There are better books out there
Predictable plot (it's a war, right?) and the characters were predictable, too. No surprises or twists in this one. I found myself flipping ten pages at a time just to get through it.

Compelling?
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich The "compelling" question above is nonsensical when reviewing a cookbook IMO. The recipes in this book are good ones, solid performers with proven techniques that all cooks can use and enjoy. No eye of newt or other exotica, just practical and tasty dishes that can be enjoyed often. I have most of Ina's books and this one is a keeper.

Not her best IMO
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Not many keeper recipes for me. Certainly not on a par with some of Ina's other really good books. But perhaps I just have too many cookbooks. All of her recipes are good, some are just more exciting than others.
