Drive plate/washer

My bendix teeth were ground up and it needed replaced. I bought this kit and the drive plate/washer on this is coated with what looks to be a zinc plating. After putting the new kit on, it would engage in the ring gear and the shaft would turn but the bendix wouldn’t. Found out the drive plate is to slippery and wouldn’t grip the bendix. Took back apart and used the original Polaris drive plate and it works great. Make sure it is cleaned with brake cleaner where the washer grips the rubber surface.
