For French Philosophers
The plot strains credibility. And in order to understand what’s going on the reader has to have substantial knowledge about the Paris intellectual scene at the time, and about the philosophical issues that preoccupy the characters. I couldn’t finish it.

Not Funny
I chose this book after I found it on a list of the all-time funniest books. It is not funny. There are no interesting or attractive characters, and there is no plot to speak of.

The Best
This is simply the best collection of Christmas carols that there is. My family and I have tried several, and we always come back to this one. No gimmicks. Just all the favourite carols, perfectly performed.
