Great original (not remastered) album.
This is advertised as the remastered version from 2004 that came with two bonus tracks, but what was sent was the ORIGINAL version from 1988. Still technically good, but not what I asked for.

Excellent purchase.
The cassette came as ordered, on time, with no issues.

"Better than everyone - even Elton - thinks it is."
It routinely winds up at the top of "Worst Elton John Album" lists all over the world, but I've never thought that. I've always enjoyed LEATHER JACKETS to pieces. The fun of songs like the hard-hitting "Go It Alone," the 50's/80's mash-up of the title track are melodically irresistible. In this sense, the lead single, "Heartache All Over The World" should have done a lot better on the charts in the U.S. and U.K than it did. Meanwhile, I can't think of an EJ album that has more of Elton's atmospheric ballads than this one: "Gypsy Heart," "I Fall Apart," "Paris," and "Hoop Of Fire." And no one seems to have love for "Angeline," but its tongue-in-cheek misogyny is harmless amusement. The only real misstep is "Don't Trust That Woman," wth God-awful lyrics by Cher, saved (barely) by Elton's melody. Overall, JACKETS is a most underrated album, slightly better than its predecessor, ICE ON FIRE. It's not EJ's best, but it's certainly not his absolute worst. It deserves reassessment, from Elton John, and everyone else.
