Works for me, after a slight modification.

This unit has no bypass so the water would heat up, open the thermostat, then the thermostat would close from the cool water. The result was the engine temp would run up to about 210F then drop to 100F before the process repeated. By drilling a couple of 1/4" holes in the valve enough water flowed through the system to stabilize it out. After that it worked fine.
