In the Absence of Men: A Novel - Hardcover By Besson, Philippe - VERY GOOD

A very engaging historical novel that is very economically written, but . Recommended

Besson was an author who I was not familiar and had never read with but I will certainly look out for other titles by this author.. I had just read a book about WWI , the Spanish Flu epidemic and the World Series which got me searching for books about and novels dealing with WWI. I liked the author's sparse style and his ability to transport you to the battlefields and the trenches. He was able to convey so much so economically. Also, I am reading Nick by Michael Farris Smith which I would recommend-a favorite contemporary author of mine.. I am glad my search ( after reading the first book) led me to ITAOM. I also was interested in reading Plumes by Lawrence Stallings, an author who was a contemporary of the time, but have not found this one. After reading ITAOM I would like to read more of Proust. I though ITAOM an engaging and excellent novel that I would highly recommend.

Other than case not in best of shape and...

Other than case not in best of shape and a couple of disc that dis not play as well as others the series was good and worth warching
