The Bumper Book of Nature

This book is very good, well thought out and deals with all the various aspects of nature, but this copy was for the American market and really of no use in Britain which has a different eco system and animals, the book would be a sound read in the USA.

Royal Doulton Miss Nostrum Candle Snuffer D7197

One of the eight candle snuffers that Royal Doulton made in 2003 - 2004. The design of the snuffer is identical to the regular jug but with the hat remodelled, being made from ETC (English Translucent China) the snuffer is slightly smaller and must have been remodelled. As with all Royal Doulton Character jugs and Tobies the painting can some times be an hit and miss affair depending on the painter, but this snuffer is very well painted, and would be a great addition to any collection.

Of course you can expect quality from Royal Doulton, and this is an outstanding example of their craftsmanship. Te jug is well made and painted with golden features that make it stand out. Fine modelling of the jug are great as the jug is small and well balanced. Sold in a series with his wives, or on its own the jug would be a talking point on the man and history. This jug was stated as a factory second, but the jug is perfect and a credit to the modeller William K. Harper and the team of painters.
