RAW images are distorted and not automatically correctable

The lens is fine but it isn't recognized in Adobe Camera Raw so I can't automatically use the lens corrections, etc. I'm not sure if this is a defect with the one I got or if all are the same. I tried it on two different cameras and neither worked. The JPG images look fine but not the RAW images.

Everything looked great until I opened the battery compartment. There was considerable corrosion. I scraped it off and the flash seems to work well
