Excellent Quality And Pristine Condition
After receiving the package, I found everything to be in fantastic quality; the tapes, the casings, the covers, even the larger cover housing all three tapes managed to get off intact with only a minor bit of tearing in one of the corners. As for playing the tapes, the viewing experiecne was great too, as everything was coming in clearly with no signs of wear and tear on them (aside from a minor hi-fi buzzing during the first half of the New Hope tape, but it was never intrusive, I could easily fix it by switching the hi-fi mode off on my VCR, and I came to expect something like this from older VHS tapes anyway) and I really enjoyed my time with it. In case anyone wants to ask what my setup was, I was watching the tapes on a Panasonic PV-D4763S played back on an older Vision HDTV through the standard composite cables]. Overall, if you're looking for the original version of the Star Wars Original Trilogy [i.e.: before the Special Edition modifications] in their intended aspect ratio and you don't want to try to hunt down the LaserDisc copies, this is a great way to view them for relatively cheap (assuming you still have a VHS-compatible VCR, anyway).

Great Condition Set!
I’ve been running through the box set for the last few days, and I can say that everything works perfectly here. Everything that was originally advertised is accounted for, the episode guide looks virtually untouched, and the discs all work beautifully aside from one disc that just needed some mild cleaning with an alcohol swab. I noticed that the top of the Volume 4 set was a bit frayed, but everything else was pretty much in mint condition (given the age of the box set). While this has nothing to do with the listing, I quite liked what I saw of the contents of the box set so far (only checking out one episode per disc), even if my interest becomes more swing-and-miss by the end (if you seen the show yourself, you should know what I mean)... Overall, a great value and a truly amazing find considering what’s inside the set and how much a complete listing goes for nowadays. Probably the best $400 I spent on a box set like this, if only for its general rarity.
