Quite impressed for the money
I've wanted a small plasma cutter for a number of years. For occasional hobby use I couldn't justify $700 plus.
When I saw this one for $300 I thought if it worked, this was just what I was looking for. A check on cost for consumables showed them to be readily available and reasonably priced. Looking on eBay it was apparent a number of firms are selling the same unit with their own decal on the side.
The unit arrived quickly, packed well and went together with only a bit of struggling to plug in one of the cords at the front of the unit. The hand held face shield and wire brush are cheap and unimpressive. There is one set of replacement consumables included. I'd vote for skipping the shield and brush and adding a second set.
I tried it on light weight sheet metal using the 110V adapter and it cut just fine. I then tried it on 3/16 material and the unit would not strike and hold an arc using 110V. Switched to 220V and it worked great. Cut through effortlessly. I half expected this so was not unhappy or surprised by it.
One or two reviews I'd read before ordering mentioned the unit using a lot of air. I didn't find this to be a problem at all. Plasma cutters do need some volume of air to do the job intended.
A buddy who happened to be with me when I was trying it out was so impressed he went home and ordered one for himself.
It's light weight, easy to haul around and the cable lengths are adequate. No regrets at all on the purchase!
