Neverwinter Nights 2 Gold
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I have played the original Neverwinter Nights and its expansions for years. I've played D&D since its first inception in April of 1974. I love the game and what it represents, period. So when they announced they were doing Neverwinter Nights 2, I wanted to give it a try as well.
The graphics in NWN2 Gold are better than the graphics in NWN1, but not much, really. They aren't a drastic improvement. They do, however, require much higher resources on your computer, including processor speed, memory, and drive space. The trade off isn't that great.
As far as playability goes, the controls for NWN2 Gold aren't quite as intuitive as NWN1's were, and they're clumsier seeming to me. Granted, I've only played NWN2 Gold a couple of days so far, but I'm having a much harder time getting the hang of the way the game works.
I do like the fact that it uses the D&D 3.5 rules instead of the 3.0 rules. There's less customization options from what I can see in NWN2 than there is with NWN1.
Overall, NWN2 is a good game, and quite fun, but its a bit of a monster to get the hang of and get into. Even the story when you're starting off, while it has its good points, is rather convoluted and stretches your ability to lose yourself in the game completely.
Is it worth buying and playing? Oh definitely. Its got many good qualities. The good qualities outstrip the bad ones, but you will still find yourself missing NWN1 I think when you play it.

A modern superhero tale that is hopeful rather than dark and gritty
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I was already a fan of Supergirl for many years, and had watched the first season religiously during its run on CBS. I knew the show itself was going to be every bit as wonderful as the TV run was, of course, but the extra features were nice, without weighing the content down. They didn't seem like add on weights to make the overall price higher. They were all entertaining and fun.
I'd priced the season elsewhere, and found it at least twice what I paid for it here. The seller I bought it from provided me a brand new copy, with all the discs and features for a very reasonable price. I couldn't have asked for a better deal.
So, if you're looking for a great modern superhero show that's great fun for the entire family to watch, without having to worry about impressionable kids getting negative ideas from positive role models, with great stories, engaging characters, and a genuine feel of hope, rather than the dark, dismal, everything is bad feeling many superhero shows and movies give you, this is a bargain you can't beat

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is book seven, the final book, in the Harry Potter series. Being an avid fan and reader of the series, I needed this book to finish my collection of the series. I also needed to know how the story ended, at least ostensibly ended.
The book is exceedingly well written in very engaging dialog and narrative that draws you into the story and keeps you turning pages until the last one. The story that has been woven throughout the series reaches its dramatic climax in this book. Many of the secrets you've been wondering about all through the series are revealed, and many answers are given to you, the reader, as well as to the characters themselves.
Though the series is commonly referred to as a "children's series" of fiction, the story progresses along with the age level of the characters and readers alike, I noticed. That's very apparent in the final book of the series. Rowling engages your attention and senses with brief descriptions that don't subtract from the action, but at the same time, give you a complete enough picture of everything that your mind automatically fills in the details.
If you want a well written and honored theme of a story that is done in a way so as not to be cliche, then the Harry Potter series, especially the Deathly Hallows, is for you. If you only buy seven more books this year, these seven, especially the last, should be the ones you buy.
