Synchronicity SACD (stereo layer)
Great album in spectacular sound quality, particularly the acoustic instruments and drums. However, previous issues of the album on vinyl and cd have been so good that it is hard to justify the added expense for a slight bettering of the sonics.

Octogenarian rock out.
This is worth getting if you are a long term hard core Stones fan as it gives a good idea of what to expect at one of their planned concerts later in the year.
The reason I docked it one star is because it isn’t the best Stones concert recording and only has half a dozen tracks on it, the latest album and a few well worn old gems(no pun intended).

Iggy does Egyptian mythology
Superb! This is a really strange album in a number of ways. Firstly, it is an ambient sort of free jazz musical setting with occasional Egyptian sounding motifs, rather than anything you have ever heard Iggy singing to before. Bill Laswell being key to those proceedings. Secondly, Iggy never sings, he just speaks the names and delivers information of the various aspects of the human soul according to Egyptian mythology as interpreted by William S Burrows. Perfect voice for the job, gravelly and authoritative. Thirdly, we get to hear William S Burrows himself deliver the same information and a partial autobiography before having his recorded voice mutated by Laswell. A genuinely unique album.
