Not Sexist
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I loved reading this to my children but was surprised to hear years later it was one of their favorites as well. My daughters grew up to be confident and capable women even though many of the comments regarding this book claim it is sexist and should never be read to children today. I disagree with those comments. I do not believe that it is wrong to portray a young girl being wholeheartedly absorbed in the important tasks of caring for her dollies and their household. She is working hard, being conscientious, and enjoy the time with her dollies. I would suggest that one enjoy the book and then end it by asking your children what important jobs this 'little mommy' has outside of the home when her dollies get older.
