Good book, but not great for all.

I have 2 foster kids in my home that lack any form of discipline. Techniques that worked with my child, simply do not with my foster children. They come from an abusive home. Mr. Dobson's writings are entertaining, but are not enough for children who are ODD, ADHD and bipolar. If your children have been diagnosed with any or all of these problems, skip this book and move on to books that discuss working with "inflexible-explosive" children. Not only are these books much more helpful for these children, but they also help you understand more of what's going on. And by all means - seek help from a therapist for everyone's sake! I also recommend that you get an extra copy to provide to your child's teacher(s).
