A Cracking Canon camera!!
This little gem is well above its peers.
Only a little bulkier than most 'trendy' cameras, it scores highly for ease of use, clear features, and value for money.
My wife used hers frequently, capturing lots of candid shots due to its rapid fire-up time, and was mortified when we lost it.
So this purchase is to replace the original, and cost even less than the original one!

Slim and sensitive camera
I have owned several Canon Powershots over the years and purchased an A1000 IS in 2009 to use for roof surveys and the like.
Sadly, that one finally died after having been dropped numerous times, scraped down tiled roofs, brief immersion in a roof pond and general use and hard work over the last eight years.
I bought this one to replace it, knowing how reliable the first was!
The image quality is very good and the 4X zoom very useful without being over the top and the image stabilisation is superb.
All round a very worthwhile purchase for very little money.

Essential item
I purchased two of these plus a charger, to prevent that "out of battery" moment!
Not quite as long-lasting as a Panasonic item, bu well worth the tiny asking price!!
