A great book about the nypd during the 70's & 80's. Very well written !
Quintessential NYC !
It was hard to stop reading story after story told through the eyes of old school detectives.
It puts you in a time warp from 20-40 years ago, these are some of the events that shaped the nypd and City of New York .
E W Count should have written additional series, from patrol stories to more detective stories.
If you live, love or grew up in NYC , read this book.

Great book that takes you inside the brains of the NYPD.
A great book !
Jack Maple was very passionate about his work as a cop. A true visionary that got a once in a lifetime opportunity thanks to Bill Bratton. Jack was truly a crime fighter, he lived for the job.
This book puts you deep inside the modernization or evolution of City of New York and it's fabled police department.
So sad to learn of his early passing, Jack is a legend.
