Dr. Cool PRO Series Rock Tumbler
The rock tumbler was a gift to my grandson who is 7 years old. It actually is entertaining the entire family though. They all love to learn. They've told me how much they're enjoying it and how they can't wait to explore and find more rocks and minerals to identify and polish. I think I hit the ball out of the park with this gift. I also gave him a book on rocks and minerals and an extra supply of gemstone rocks and the necessary grits. I can't wait to hear more about their experiences and results! I imagine I'll be receiving beautifully polished rocks in the mail soon...which I plan to make jewelry out of. I'm so glad I purchased this rock tumbler! I read that it has won many awards, which is one of the reasons I chose it. It seems to be living up to it's reputation. I'll submit further information if possible once he's had it longer. So far, it's holding up well and doing a great job.

Book about rocks and minerals for my 7 year old grandson.
Very good book for a beginner. I bought a rock polisher for him for Christmas and wanted a book to go along with it. It looks perfect for his age and reading skills. Very clear pictures and descriptions of the original rock or mineral and its form as a polished gemstone, etc. The book interests me as well... I'm a beginner too so its content is quite interesting to me. Very glad I purchased this book.
