Just what the Doctor ordered.
After establishing that the auger motor on my stove had failed, I removed the anger and found that it was binding in the bearing. I removed it, took some fine sand paper the mating surfaces and reinstalled it. With it moving freely, I installed the new auger motor and waited to see if it was that easy to repair. Within 5 minutes, the pellet stove was alight and I was delighted! The motor looks like original equipment and it has not missed a beat in the last 3 weeks. I feel like I should have put some heat proof grease on the auger shaft before reinstalling it, but I'll do that in the off season (maybe))).
