Far Fetched Reasoning
Setting aside all discussion of creationism vs. evolution, I was disappointed to read a book that tries hard, very, very hard to bend reality to fit biblical stories. Mr. Ross would have us believe that a creator set into motion the birth of the universe knowingly committed to it taking 4 billion years for humans to emerge. Further he doesn't find it arrogant at all to consider the splendor of the universe and arrive at the conclusion that it was all created for our seriously flawed species. He really, really wants to believe in a creator and subsequently bends all of astrophysics to support that position. I submit that readers who do take the bible literally and who are faith-based in their views will also find the connections he presents a stretch of both imagination and credibility. Rather than having written a book that supports a higher power, his book actually diminishes the argument for one.
