Terry Gilliam's Classic: 12 Monkeys
Terry Gilliam's 12 Monkeys is one of those timeless classics for now and the future because it's the pure stuff of dreams put to the screen with beautiful high production values.
The story itself is complex and convoluted until the very end when the terror strikes as you realize
(A) how this happened, from the very beginning
and (B) the perverse nature that allowed it.
A devastating film and I find myself looking around corners and trying not to be suspicious, hoping this could never happen but knowing that it could...
It's a satire of the human condition, and how we go through life just doing our jobs, only looking outside the box when the unforeseen strikes to jog us out of our complacent existence.
