Exhaustive and complete but the photo sections are a bit of a letdown...
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Perhaps the most complete analysis on this specific engagement that there has ever been or will ever be. It is an exhaustive book with everything included, plus the kitchen sink, for good measure. The supplemental material is great along with the maps (some are FOLD outs) and charts, although i did only find 3-4 maps from the German side, the majority of the 40++ were of Soviet origin and some were a bit hard to decipher i must say. There are hundreds of charts breaking down just about everything, from tanks/vehicles lost, to the ages of the respective unit commanders and then some. Also of note the "Panther" Rgt. which delayed this battle is meticulously discussed. There are also many personal accounts from the Vets of both sides, broken down by their respective units. If there is one nitpick in this remarkable book, it would be the 4 photo sections included. There seemed to be some redundancy with 2 of the sections in my eyes. Why we needed to see 20+ color photos of 'present' day pastures of the battlefield, with grazing horses..lol..it's just silly editorially speaking, 2 or 3 would of sufficed. Another section has, again, 20+ period aerial photos, which all kinda look the same. The one photo section i kinda liked were pics of the battle itself, with the vehicles and men, although some of the images have been published elsewhere. Unfortunately they were blurry and out of focus in this book for whatever reason. Because of these sections i decided to knock off one star from an otherwise excellent book. Namaste..

implausible storyline takes you out of the immersion..
overrated to say the least. i buy these games mostly for the single player experience..i dabble a little on multi-player and find the gameplay frenetic..i just don't get it..die..respawn..die respawn..die...i guess i'm old school.
anyways the single player campaign is long so at least you get bang for your buck in that respect BUT the typical COD outlandish STORYLINE here is ridiculously funny.i don't know but it just took me out of the immersion..IN the end all you have to do is point and shoot..the story never really matters..something about numbers..??
i've played them all in the series so i know what i'm talking about.
it's all about the name here as most of you turkeys' will buy this game just BECAUSE of the COD hype machine.
In my opinion, although short i found the MEDAL OF HONOR game a more satisfing experience and more realistic.
this is an average game.
cheers and namaste..
