A great overlooked movie
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich If you ever watched Dr Strangelove or Failsafe and liked them, watch this. A very serious movie dealing with the Cold War, but still powerful and relevant today.
A movie buff will enjoy it for the actors : Richard Widmark, Sidney Poitier, Martin Balsam, Donald Sutherland, James MacArthur ('Dano' from Hawaii FiveO) And Wally Cox has a serious acting role !
The movie is black and white, but if anything it adds to the flavor of the plot.
The plot is quite believable, and similar to Moby Dick. An American destroyer captain is obsessed with a Russian Submarine found inside Greenland's waters.
Poitier plays a veteran reporter who in turn is obsessed by the story. The tension in the film is great, and the ending should scare anyone watching.
