May as well read it
While the premise has become a common reference, true understanding of the depth of Dorian’s (and humanity’s) depravity is better illustrated by the smaller anecdotes of the novel. And Wilde is always a good time

Interesting historical reversal
Haven’t finished reading it yet, but it’s a fun thought experiment. Definitely an easy read, obviously young adult novel, but the concepts are still useful to more experienced readers. Maybe not the MOST thought provoking, profound read, but has a decent amount of depth while still being an enjoyable read.

Not a boring book about war and old people
Forced to read in school for a class, I was expecting a boring war book. Was surprised by the depth of character development and by some of the harder to swallow truths of war. The characters were my age at the time.
I remember returning to class the day we had been assigned to read the one scene—if you’ve read it, you know the one—we all sat down in complete silence, only looked at each other to say WOW we were not prepared for that. Right in the feels.
