Great figure of a rare subject
American mastodons, despite being the second most well-known Ice Age elephant, are rarely made into figures. Safari Ltd. knocked it out of the park with this version. Sized to match their Carnegie Collection woolly mammoth and smilodon figures (and most regular-sized animal figures from Safari and other companies, about 1:20-something vs. the 1:40 for most dinosaur figures and the Wild Safari woolly mammoth), the detail, accuracy, and expression on this figure are fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone who collects Ice Age animal figures.

Close to accurate
Safari Ltd.'s Przewalski's horse is SO close... In profile, everything looks about right. The size, colour, build, and head shape are all good. But when viewed from the front, the head looks very odd. It is too thin, almost tapering to the nose like a triangle. It's like Safari didn't bother looking at any photos of the horse's front before sculpting this. Schleich's retired Przewalski's horse still sets the standard for figures of this horse, but Safari's is better than CollectA's version.
