The Grateful Dead movie
Awesome movie! Of course you have to be a DeadHead to truly appriciate it. Having seen The Dead...I can say that this movie is a good representaiton of a Dead concert. Most videos of the Dead are strictly of stage shots...and do not fully represent the concert experience. Of course NO VIDEO can fully represent the concert experience! However this one gets 5 stars for effort! Even includes a DeadHead expressing his anger of exploiting the audience for monotary profit. Seemed odd to me...everytime I have gone to Dead concerts, No one is angry of confrontational! Makes me wonder if he was a real DeadHead...or if he was just having a bad trip!
Clearly the most authentic Dead movie I have ever seen...not the best nor professionally polisheded version of a Dead concert. If that is what you want, then any of the "from the vault" series will show a very polished, professional look that the executives of the record companies would approve of. If you want a better idea of what it was really like...check this out!
I was a DeadHead in the late '80s...a big cultural and style difference than depicted in the movie...but the flavor is the same!
AND I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION " THE WALL OF SOUND"! Google it if you donot know it by name!
Great movie...I 1st saw it onVHS tape!

Too thin to work properly!
Old design that is hard to find. Newly manufactured to modern standards. I.E. the leather is so thin that it does not open and close properly! The "base" leather (makes the floor and acts like a spring), is stiff and thick...like it should be...but the folded leather is too thin to properly "un"fold open, and snap back shut. You squeeze it, and then you have to take a finger from your other hand to open the folds. OK, you don't have to squeeze...you have to open it with your other finger regardless if you squeeze or not. You squeeze it to make it "POP" open. This one does not pop...ever!
Had it been made of a thicker leather (like my old one that is starting to get holes worn in it...that still POPS when squeezed!) then it would have been a good value...even if it cost a bit more to buy. Nothing is a good value...at any price...if it does not function as intended.
I only bought one...to see if it was any good. I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANOTHER.
If a product can not be made well...why bother making it at all?

"Tell my experience using the 1912 Barber dime"? What can I say? It arrived quickly, was as described, and buying experience was very good! I,m not using it...I'm collecting it! If I have to use it, then we are suffering economic collapse! At that point, my experience is not good and no one will be reading this review! eBay asks for some pretty silly things at times!
