rough
They are simply poor . surface is rough on the tips where they are ground

Simply not up for the job
There are several designs out there similar but this one distorts under weight and the knob
that hold the tension just slides open. Wish I picked another or paid a bit more.

Bulbs
They shine out the front of the car so you can see where your going. Very handy at night when it is dark. Seeing where you are going in the dark is useful when you are driving so I recommend bulbs.
