Not doing what I had hoped for

Am rather disappointed with it. After several tries, using different varieties of rice, I consistently get gummy, and/or burned, rice. The only way I get what I want is to pre-wash the rice, set a manual timer, check and stir several times, then wash the rice again afterwards, followed by re-heating in the microwave. If I'm going to have to do all that rigmarole anyway, I might as well just cook it in a sauce pan like previously. I realize this is a cheap unit, but come on guys! How hard would it be to put a bell or beep or something to alert me that it has switched from Cook to Warm? And how about a true 'Off' setting so it doesn't just sit there and continue to dry out/burn the 'finished' rice? In fairness, it seems to be well built with quality materals, and does heat up quickly. It just does not do what I wanted it to. Will probably be doniating to Goodwill.

Very disappointed.

Simply does not do what it is advertised to do. If you simply put in the ingredients as directed, and then walk off and expect to come back to perfect rice - forget it! It will have boiled over and spit all over the counter. It will have burned the rice and left you with a big glob stuck all around the bottom of the pan. Also absolutely hate the lack of any kind of bell or beep to tell you it has finished. Also does not EVER turn itself off. You have to unplug it to get it to stop burning the rice. VERY disappointed!
