good mystery and historical references
This is a great mystery, without being a who-dun-it. It has a wonderful story to tell, along with the mystery, which I didn't know the answer to until the very end. It's the first in a series, and I will definitely read the second one.

relates well to the story
This is a very unusual story. Not for everyone. Would have to be a read with a very open mind to previously un-thought-of possibilities.

Description accuracy
It looks even better than I hoped it would! It's larger than I had pictured (even knowing the measurements) and it looks antiqued, as if it just popped out of Wonderland. I love it!
