This bobbin works very well for fly tying. Smooth ceramic tube reduces drag and fraying on thread. Rubber grip is comfortable. Arms have enough tension for smallest bobbin and can be bent for larger ones.

Smith & Alexander 1911 Slim Grip Bushings & Screws
The bushings have machined collars on the upward facing flanges to allow a slimmer grip to be used. Threads on bushings and screws were precisely cut with little or no burrs. The bushings fit snug in the frame of my Ruger SR1911. The aftermarket G10 slim grips I was using had been CNC machined and the screws and bushings were an exact fit in the holes. An added bonus from the supplier was an included hex key that was sized for the screws. Overall well pleased with product and supplier. If you are going to go from a standard thickness grip to a slim thickness grip on a 1911, the correct bushings and appropriate screws are mandatory. I would recommend the Smith & Alexander bushings and screws for their quality and price.
