High class product...
It's now the best part of a decade old but if you're happy with a ten mb raw file (and frankly there's no point in going much bigger with a point-and-shoot) this remains a great purchase. It's such a stronger build than the contemporary Leica and it's not only got optics to match but that light-gobbling f1.8 aperture that means you get sharper interior shots than most of its contemporaries could offer. At present you see it offered for up to £150 ... But despite its quality I wouldn't, honestly, pay more than half of that. I don't mind the limited zoom that people occasionally point up (super zooms are daft on small cameras) but I don't personally 'gel' with the colour balance of the sensor. If you're used to Sony or Nikon values (which tend to accentuate greens) this won't worry you at all. But if you prefer Fuji or Canon values (accentuating reds) then you might - as I do - find the images dis-spiritingly clinical. No amount of jigging the raw files can correct this - it's all in the capture. I've got a Ricoh which is two or three years older and prefer the atmospherics despite it being softer and slower than the Samsung. For archive and interior shots it's a rugged, compact workhorse. It's just a tad soul-less.

Good as its reputation.
The kind of lens you'd have died for before computers produced lenses. All round quality although reputed to be a little soft with close-up detail (it focuses down to 9").

Very happy.
Bought as a gift. Well known for its quality at a good price. Particularly good (but not exclusively) for learners who might struggle with wider necks.
