WEN 6502 4 x 36-Inch Belt and 6-Inch Disc Sander with Cast Iron Base

Good for the price. Well built!

WEN has always produced quality, inexpensive power tools, although the company has never gained a lot of popularity. This sander can't be beat for the low price. Its performance compares to machine costing two to three times what this one does. It is powerful enough to sand any wood project in the homeowner's shop. It's very well built, with a cast iron base so it's not going to move around on you while sanding. The belt system and disc are both very precisely set up to be useful without constant attention. Changing a belt is a snap. There is only one thing I would like to have seen done better; the mechanism to lower or raise the sanding belt bed is tightened by an allen head bolt. It should have been by a lever or knob for easy use.

Good quality in comparrison.

This unit has excellent quality and is VERY customizable. I installed a switch to turn on and off the LED on the lid, thus saving battery power and allowing me to see it at night. Quality stuff that other products don't deliver!
