1 von 1 finden das hilfreich i bought my first red-book in 1962. i relied on it's pricing (but not the "history" of items as that didn't change, much, except every few years) -- as the value of numismatic items did't change that radically nor frequently until 1964 or so -- as, of course, as we all know, coinage went OFF the silver backing/content and... i presume valuable minterals value became a bit more volatile, if not frequently adjustable after that time. and so ... well, i hadn't purchased a more-recent red-book until recently, as i've become "old & decrepit" and should sell my collexion soon.
my grandfather (a big influence in my pre-teen-aged numismatic affixion) was a mentor and advisor to OVERTON, a big influence in Red Books of old. Mr. Overton had booths at an ANA national convention in Colorado Springs in the mid-1960s and recruited me (age 12) to oversee and manage one of his bourse booths at that convention. highlight of my limited ANA life!
