Very Interesting Essays
This is one of the late Jeff Cooper's (1920-2006) "early" books, published around 1980 and republished by Paladin int he late 1990s. The essays are wide ranging in topics, and written over several decades. I especially like the ones on history, small arms, warfare, and Rhodesia. I was not wild about the one to do with automobiles and racing. Overall, this is a good book.

Interesting compendium of information
I purchased a used copy of Kleber's *The Encyclopedia of Louisville* here on Ebay for about $8, as the $45 retail for a new copy on Amazon was way too high. I am pleased with the book, as it contains detailed entries on all manner of people, places, and events in the history and culture of Louisville. As a resident of Kentuckiana with roots back to 1780, I would recommend this book to others with an interest in the history of River City.

A superb 1911 magazine, but pricey
The Wilson Combat *Vickers Duty* magazine is extremely well made, even better than the standard Wilson ETM series that I have been using for a decade. The flatwire spring is said to never need replacemnt. This is the first Vickers mag that I have bought, and I shot 70 rounds of 230 hardball using it yesterday. If you can afford them ($55 retail!) they are the probably the best 1911 magazine available anywhere at any price. Now I just need to scrape up the money for a few more myself...
