Must have in your music collection
Great compilation of what may be their best live performances. Or at least the ones that were filmed, although I haven’t seen all of their videos. I’ve seen Song Remains The Same and I think these performances are better. One major difference is Robert Plant. I love his singing but by the time they played Madison Square Garden in ’73 where SRTS was filmed (and some of which is also on this DVD) he wasn’t pushing his voice as much (understandably) but he was also acting over the top and narcissistic. When I watch SRTS I just watch the rest of the band or close my eyes. On this DVD Robert Plant is a bit more tolerable to watch. There’s a lot to watch on this DVD. I didn’t time anything but I would say that, not counting the interviews, there’s approximately 5 hours of performances. Definitely a great value and a must have for your music collection.
