Grab a J&B on the rocks, head to your cabin, and relax...
I bought this because I'm obsessed with the 1982 movie, The Thing, by John Carpenter. Great to finally read the source material and inspiration for one of the best films ever made.
It's much more technically scientific than I was expecting, but I'm still really enjoying it.
Highly recommended if you're a fan of Sci-Fi, body horror, and/or isolation thrillers.

Surprisingly gory school effects
If you want award-winning acting a Pulitzer Prize-winning a riot then avoid this like the plague. If, however, you want a decent 90's action film with practical effects rather than unconvincing CGI, then you could do far worse than this largely forgotten gem.
