  The item arrived faulty. Optical signal keeps dropping out. The seller is jumping through as many hoops to not make it right. Avoid doing business with this seller if you can.

  This optical output is intended for use with a minidsc component as by manufacturer's manual. The unit itself has an internal amplifier for CD or tuner playback. The buyer said there's a red light coming from the optical output which means the output works. It simply doesn't match buyer's amplifier, not compatible and can not be covered.
