A great pictoral overview of SR-71 and its place in high-speed and high altitude reconnaisance..
I found this photo-loaded book very interesting. And would believe that even a novice fan of fast movers would like to see multiple aspects of the SR-71's development and applications. But, then I'm not perhaps the average reader. I grew up as the son of an Air Force pilot that flew combat missions in WWII and the Korean War as well as numerous aircraft including the C-97 across the Pacific. His last aircraft was the L-20 as he ended his career as the CO of several ADC radar bases. I went on to active duty in the Air Force, serving several years at SAC Hqtrs in the DI. After the USAF, I was responsible for developing the manufacturing plans for the military versions of the Boeing 707 design. After retirement, I returned to volunteering in the Civil Air Patrol where I served as the Director of Aerospace Education in the State of Washington.So keep the good books flowing an I'll pass them on. :-)
