Upgrading an old laptop can be a really good idea
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I purchased this to upgrade an old Lenovo with a VERY slow processor. Previous owner had thrown it in the recycle bin, but I figured that was a waste of a good laptop. The T9300 is the second fastest CPU available for 800MHz FSB Core2Duo laptops, and the 4% increase up to the T9500 was not worth the extra cost for me. Installation difficulty ranges from trivial to extreme, depending on brand and model of laptop. The Lenovo was easy, my Dell is trivial and my wife's Acer was extremely hard to upgrade (gave her a T9500). The extra large cache of the T9 series C2D really helps, possibly more than the increase in clock frequency. The result will be in the Core i3 range, performance wise. Though the i3 possibly has a better integrated graphics controller than your old laptop.
I would advice anyone with a T1 through T8 series Core2Duo CPU laptop to consider upgrading to a T9300 (if laptop only goes up to 800MHz) or T9400 (for 1066MHz FSB capable laptops). The cost is negligible, compared to buying something new. If you want, the T9500, T9550, T9600, T9800 and T9900 can also be found, but the cost is a bit higher.
