A CAN'T PUT DOWN read reminiscent of Gone With The Wind

Published a year after GWTW, this novel is just as wonderful and descriptive as Margaret Mitchell's masterpiece. This book rivals GWTW in many ways, and I believe it surpasses GWTW but, in the shadows of the great book's debut, this one was lost in the dust. Read this book. I have the 1st edition copy which was given to my mother on Christmas 1937, which I cherish. I have read that copy over 100 times (no exaggeration) and now it is very fragile. My daughter wanted to read this book, and since my copy is so delicate now, I ordered this copy for my daughter's own library. This is the first book of the Plantation Trilogy. You can try to find this book in a library but often times you can't find it because others have "borrowed it permanently" and it's nearly impossible to find this book in hardcover. You can find it in paperback, though. Great read, great history.
