Inexpensive solution that exceeds expectations
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This bench won't get much use in the near future, so time will tell how durable it is. For now, it seems sturdy and the craftsmanship is better than expected.

Triumvirat: Spartacus German Prog Rockers tell a story
Although critics don't generally consider Spartacus the best album from the German prog rock outfit Triumvirat, it is certainly an enjoyable listen. The album marks the first effort for this group after jumping to a major record label (Capitol) and Triumvirat don't disappoint. The musical score is based on the story of the famous Thracian gladiator, Spartacus, who lead a slave rebellion against Rome in the 1st century BC. This is prog rock, so singing is an adjunct, not the focus. But the singing is surprisingly good considering these are deutschers singing in English. Three of the tracks are longer than 6 minutes, and two of these close the album giving it a somewhat epic flavor. The band's sound is not always innovative. The influence of Emerson, Lake and Palmer is clear. Frankly, that's hard to fault. Still, there is plenty of creativity and the heavy mood works well for the album's theme. If you had happened upon a group of fans after a mid-70s Triumvirat concert, it would be no surprise to find the majority supporting this album as their favorite among the band's efforts. It's definitely my favorite, critics be damned.
