Foreigner 4 Atlantic Gold Box CD
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich Superb engineering. Far, far improved over original aluminium CD. Mastering, packaging, etc. is first rate. The Atlantic CD's are by and large as a group, like the CBS Mastersound discs, extremely well done and somewhat more consistent than the MFSL gold and Steve Hoffman mastered DCC discs. Foreigner 4 is an excellent rock album, well produced and executed with some of the best Foreigner songs they penned. JukeBox Hero is one of my favorites and rocks the house. Tight, fast transient response, very, very clean. Impressive. I own all but the CSN disc in this offing of discs and all are equally impressive in their sonic delights. The redbook CD format has a whole lot more ability than the mainstream would have one believe. Most of the problematic sonics on CD have everything to do with sloppy, horrid engineering, mastering and pressing operations. I have some CD's that have extraordinary sonics and it is all due to first rate recording, engineering, mastering and pressing.
It must be noted that I utilize two Genesis Audio Digital Lens' devices in series between my disc transport and DAC. The Genesis D/L reclocks the digital data, strips the digital signal of all the carrier junk that flows along with it (track data, etc.), holds the datastream for about 2-4 seconds and allows the data to flow from its one internal chip network. Over 40 chips are employed in this sophisticated device which also upsamples to 20 bits (dithered) in one of two modes, and allows HDCD signals to also pass through without alteration. Using two devices completely decouples the drive from the DAC and allows the data to be reclocked twice, upsampled twice, etc. before going to the DAC and the improvment in sonics over standard digital data is extraordinary. Sadly, the Genesis D/L is no longer in production, but mint samples can be found on Ebay or Audiogon, fairly regularly.
Further, application of L'Art Du Son CD/DVD teatment and Marigo Labs Signature Matt improve sonics of all discs more than a few notches better than stock. Highly recommended for any serious listening. Very analog-like in sonic presentation when using these wonderful "tweaks".

Best DVD-R’s made.
MAM-A’s dye is the industries best. Mfg is the tightest as well. Never had a coaster! Superb Sonics with data hi resolution burns. Expect very long life! perfect for archival large files burns.

Crosby, Stills & Nash [Gold CD] - Crosby, Stills & Nash
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich Superb sonics, mastering and transfer of this fabulous recording. By far and away the best CD version. Packaging and additional booklet included are outstanding as well. No question, MCA spent a lot of time and money on this particular transfer. There are sublte bits of information and low level detail that come out of this disc unheard of before on any CD or record version I have owned. For the first time, I believe I am getting close to the master tape.
A must own disc if you are a CS&N fan, as I have been since my teen years when this disc was first released.
