Maxed out my ASUS P5B
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I have two ASUS P5B systems. Kinda old, but I maxed RAM with 8GB. Windows 7. I replaced Core 2 Duo (3.0GHz and 2.2Ghz) with Core 2 Quad 3.0GHz. (3.0GHz is "beta" for this motherboard, but it works (with latest BIOS).) Change was easy. Remove heat sink, clean CPU and heat sink, swap CPU, add grease on heat sink, replace heat sink, make sure it is seated, done. Total MFLOPS is doubled and tripled (respectively). For the 2.2GHz, single-threaded performance is also increased, to about 150% what it was.
((Added instruction: Clean your old CPU and holder BEFORE removing it. Any cleaning operation with the CPU removed risks poking or contaminating the delicate LGA socket pins. If you bend or break a pin, you could ruin your motherboard.))

Easy change job
New and clean. Easy to change. Works fine. Nice price. Saved me from my stupid mistake.
I never knew what was a "clockspring" assembly until now. I was replacing my steering wheel because the low-quality foam overmold crumbled off. The hardest part was releasing the airbag, which has little spring clips in back. After releasing the airbag, remove one obvious connector with the horn wire and release the two connectors FROM THE AIRBAG. (Don't pull the airbag wires out of the clockspring module - it looks like there is a connector, but it is not a connector! That's why I needed to replace my clockspring; it was not repairable.) The steering wheel comes off easily without a puller; just wiggle it hard. The clockspring changes easily; one connector and a three screws. (This clockspring module has lots of conductors, in case you have cruise-control or radio-control buttons in the wheel. In my model, only 5 conductors are actually used: 1 for the horn and 4 for the airbag.)

Works BUT false panic alarms AND button sticks down
Great price, so I bought 2. But: ELECTRONIC DISASTER: If I hold the Trunk button long, it pops the trunk (like it should). But, if I briefly tap the Trunk button, it puts the car into panic alarm (honking the horn), the same as if I hit the [real] Panic button. To cancel the panic alarm, I have to hit the [real] Panic button (or again briefly tap the Trunk button). It has caused multiple false Panic alarms. I cannot accept this. •How do I get a real working remote? Several vendors offer aftermarket remotes for 2000 Toyota Avalon, but they all look like this one. If they all have the same bad electronics inside (and bad shell design or assembly), they will all be just as undesirable. •Happy ending: I bought 2 used original Toyota remotes, and they work fine, so I'm returning these. •It is not right to sell a product like this without full disclosure of its insane malfunctions, except maybe to people desperate enough to buy it anyway. •How did no prior reviewer report these problems? •Lesser problem: MECHANICAL DISASTER: When I push the Unlock button, it slips sideways, and gets trapped in the down position. I have to notice this and then slide it back to let it pop up. (It doesn't jam if I carefully push straight down.) (If this was the only problem, I would just fix it by adding 3 spots of glue inside that the cheap factory skipped.)
