I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Very entertaining book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed Island religion, history and customs woven into the fictional parts of the book.

The Last Lecture
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I saw the author on TV and thought the book would be interesting. By the time I got it, he had died. It is an excellent book. Really puts life events into perspective.

Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen by Liliuokalani
This book presents excellent first hand information written by the Queen herself. It is written as she would speak so is somewhat "dry" until you get the feel for her style. She was extrememly well educated and writes in a very proper "Old English" way. Once you grasp her style, it is fascinating.
We went to Oahu recently and toured the Palace and were able to see the room where she was held prisioner for over 8 months. The Palace tour made the book come alive. For anyone who is interested in the real history of the Hawaiian Islands, this is a must.
