Missing Diamond production magic from original studio recordings

Neil Diamond magically projects his amazing voice and energy into these recordings, most of which seemed to be live, or at different studio settings from his original works. As a slightly hearing-impaired individual, I greatly count on the music I hear matching my memory of the originals experienced, so that I can create the full bouquet of sound which captivated my admiration, decades ago. In this CD, I had to work to make sure I was enjoying a memory-match, as there are many instrumental differences from the original vinyl works. Will need to hunt for sources of the original studio tracks we so embraced from our radios.

Could use the elimination of screeching background vocal tracks.

While key melodies and lyrics were enjoyable, timing and make-up on background vocals and harmonies are distractingly disappointing. The production mixes seemed to be influenced into including filler vocal noises that any true fan will quickly recognize are not present in the vast majority of H&O's body of work. Will take some time to completely embrace these numbers.
