A worthwhile change
First, I purchased this as "for" a different computer than the one I own. It's worth noting that in most situations, these mini-pcie cards will just work. There are exceptions, you should google your laptop model number to determine if your system has a "bios whitelist" or a "pcie lock". But most people can just buy any of these cards and put them in any laptop without issue. My review unit is an eMachines e627 that was originally running an old Broadcom 802.11g chip. The main reason I purchased this chip was because it came with Bluetooth and I didn't want to use a USB port on a Bluetooth device.
The installation in this device was easy, just popped the antenna plugs off the old one, took it out, put the new one in and popped the antenna plugs on. Was impressed that both Windows 10 and Kubuntu Linux 17.10 self detected and worked right away without any changes. Neither even felt the need to tell me that there was a new device or made me do anything. Both just worked. Wifi and bluetooth worked right away on the first boot in both operating systems.
Was also impressed with the signal quality on Windows, have never gotten full bars on all 3 wifi networks when I'm in my bedroom . Unfortunately, the signal quality isn't as good when running in Linux (which is my primary OS), but even with a lower signal the performance is still superior to the card it's replacing. Even one bar of signal works consistently and reliably, and it seems to be able to do more with lesser signals than the Broadcom card I replaced with this. Ultimately, a good choice if you're looking for a cheap replacement.

A nice little processor for computers that can use it
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Obviously there are much better processors available, but can your system support them? Probably not, which is why you're looking at these Turions. Generally, any of the initial 64 bit AMD processors tend to fall into this category. I upgraded my e627 notebook from a TF-20 to this TL-66. Anything in the TL-6x, 5x, etc., will work. The TL-66 is a great upgrade for most systems that can handle it. It's one step away from "top of the line", and in my opinion is a better fit for an older system because it's less likely to overheat. Mine gets to 90 celsius before throttling back, but with some undervolting I have it running at about 75 at full load. Mind you, my laptop was designed for a single core processor running at 15 watts, this is a 35 watt dual core part. Even without undervolting, if you're running Windows, it seems to do a good job at handling the thermals and voltages by default.. So you likely wont have to do anything.
All in all, considering this processor is performance-wise on par with some of the newest quad-core Baytrail offerings, I'd say it's still quite relevant. Made a world of difference in my 8 year old laptop. I actually have it running a DVR server connected to my HDHomeRun TV tuner, and it can simultaneously record multiple shows while streaming to multiple devices. The processor can keep up with it just fine. I'm actually typing out this review on the laptop with that processor while I have the DVR software recording shows at this very moment, WITH 3d desktop features activated. Thing isn't even sluggish right now, wouldn't even know it's recording if I didn't see the network activity light flashing like crazy.
So if you're on the fence on whether an upgrade from a TF series processor is worth it, there is no doubt in my mind. World of difference.

a great balance of features, performance, and price.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Let me start by saying there are certainly better carpet cleaners out there. You can find great comparisons on YouTube. So why is this one a winner? Well, multiple reasons. It's extremely easy to set up as well as use, it does a very good job, and it's quite inexpensive. It's a great balance of price, performance and ease of use. You can spend more on a much heavier duty cleaner, and you may get slightly better results. There are even cheaper carpet cleaners that do a better cleaning job, but I've seen that they break easily and are really not designed well, especially for cleaning an entire floor.
I was very happy with the results of this cleaner, and do highly recommend it.
