Adjustable jaw gap for easier balljoint splitting
Having a central screw instead of a simple pivot allows you to adjust it to fit either a rod end ball joint or a lower control arm (wishbone) ball joint.
And if it springs off you just spin the upper jaw on the central screw to adjust the gap and try again!
WARNING - before splitting a lower ball joint I strongly recommend you undo the lower end of your front strut and pull it out of the hub. If you don't then the strut spring force will prevent you fitting the new one.

useful in car
Like many people we have our music on our phones and want to play it through the car speakers.
The front mounted socket on our car audio is so close to the indicator stalk that indicating left knocks a normal 3.5mm jack plug out. This right angle plug solves the problem.
