An Excellent Collection of Christmas Favorites
While Christmas song collections seem to be just about everywhere, there are very few that really consist of more than a couple of good songs, if that many. Since I like making Christmas mix CDs, I'm always looking for collections that have songs that are easy to listen to and are well recorded. This album has been a favorite and when I lost it I immediately went to eBay to find another. While limited to Capitol Records recording artists, there is a wide selection of styles such as Hollywood Strings, Bing Crosby, Lou Rawls, Nancy Wilson, and The Lettermen. There are some misses (Marlene Dietrich? Are they kidding?) but also several classics like Al Martino's "What Child Is This?", a song almost everyone recognizes but has no idea who is singing. This is a great mix for all generations.

Songs of Summer
While there are 20 songs on this CD, only a handful are truly summer songs. Some, like California Dreaming, are by different artists; others, like Sunshine Superman, are live versions lacking the true "summer" sound of the originals. Several more, such as Sun is Shining and Tobacco Road, don't belong in this collection at all.
I bought it because it had three songs missing from my other collections but even that might have been asking too much of this album. Consider it carefully before buying it.
