Good seat, rubbish hinges

The seat is comfortable and the soft-close damper works as it should. However the hinge attachment system is a victim of its own adjustability. The separate hinges are each attached to the porcelain using an expanding bolt mechanism which allows rotation of the hinge base to position the seat attachment pillars at the correct distance apart. A good idea in theory, but it’s impossible to tighten the bolts enough and secure the pivots in one fixed position. The result is that the seat moves around on the porcelain while you’re sitting on it - I really can’t recommend it. As a mechanical engineer I’ll no doubt modify the system to make it safe to use however, out of the box the hinge attachment is garbage.

Great little switch

This is a simple, elegant, robust and well made switch. It is also excellent value.

Great product... works a treat!

Windows 10 comes with a ‘free’ online cut-down version of office which is a pain to use, so I thought a proper licensed edition of MS Office would be better - Office 2016 is better - much better! Now then... the instructions are OK and clearly say that ALL previous versions of office must be removed-but don’t say what to do about the ’included in Windows 10’ version... Anyway, I followed the you-tube de-install video (which includes a little registry editing - not complicated) and the Office 2016 install went without a hitch on 3 laptops (all with a fresh Win 10 install). It may be that I need not have worried about the free version - I have no way of knowing... Perhaps a little tweak to the instructions might be in order..?
