I got more than I paid for.
Although I did not buy the Seagate model mentioned (ST3823AS), I did buy 2 other Seagate Barracuda drives on ebay during the past 2 months. One was a ST3160318AS, the other was a ST3250312AS. Both drives were described as new and both drives indeed were new and perform perfectly so far. They are both quiet and operate at their specified parameters. For the price I paid I really did very well.

Good Choice Walk Around Lens
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Unfortunately, there is no "perfect" lens out there. With a lot of research into zoom lenses that met my requirements, I finally decided this Sigma was the best compromise available. I wanted optical stabilization, a wide zoom range (35mm equiv. 30mm - 135mm min.), decent optical quality, and a sub $500 price. Other lens models beat this one in some ways, but none could match or exceed all requirements, especially price. The "excellent" rating I gave is relative to the same type lenses available for a Canon EOS Digital model.
Now that I own it and have used it for a month, I generally like it quite a bit. I use it on a Canon 60D and an older 20D mostly for scenic and wildlife photos. Its optical quality easily beats my older 18-200mm non-OS Sigma. It is the first wide range zoom I have owned that has good optical quality at the long end of its range. Usually the upper 25% return mediocre results and often seem to be unusable beyond snapshot size. Focus is quiet and fast. On the cons side, it is a little heavy (most are) and the zoom ring is a little stiff (no creep though).
If you want a single walk around, do most everything lens, then in my opinion this or the Canon 18-135mm kit lens are the best choices. If money is no object then happy hunting.
