Sounds great

These sound good on my 150w/channel rms amp. They don’t really like to play below 80hz.

Worthwhile upgrade from SWS model

I bought a new amp that was not 1 ohm stable so I had to swap out my Alpine sws-10d2 for something else that could run at 2ohms. After years of happiness with the sws-10d2 I decided to buy an sws-10d4. The problem is that they were discontinued and hard to find and expensive compared to some others with similar power. For a little more money I decided to get one of the new model s-w10d4. I was not disappointed. The new sub is about an inch shallower but otherwise is very similar in construction. The dust cap is now an embossed grey color instead of the shiny smooth black of the old style. The sound quality is wonderful. I’m feeding it off 550 rms of Old School HCCA goodness. It really hits hard and goes deep. It is also much happier in the 0.6 cube box under the rear seat of my truck. Overall I am very pleased with the quality, price, and performance. It is definitely worth the extra money over the sws.
